What we keep, and why.

This site, sewtrue.shop, is run by Sew True. For anything on this page, email sewtrue26@gmail.com.

Checkout is run by Stripe. On Stripe’s page you enter your name, email, shipping address, phone number and card.

Stripe handles the card. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe passes us your name, email, shipping address, phone number and what you ordered, so we can ship it and contact you about it.

Your basket is saved in your own browser (local storage), so it is still there when you come back. Nothing about it is sent anywhere until you check out.

The site also keeps a random ID in your browser. It is not your name or anything about you. It goes along with a checkout so that your own unfinished checkout never blocks you from buying the same piece. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes both.

We use Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they look at, roughly where they are (country or city, never a street address), how they found the site and what kind of device they use. It sets cookies to tell a new visit from a returning one.

Google handles this data under its own privacy policy. You can block it with your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s opt-out add-on.

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, its servers log each request (IP address, browser, the page asked for) to keep the site running and secure.

The fonts are served from this site, not from a font service, so loading a page does not tell anyone else you visited.

If you email us, we keep the conversation so we can answer you and help with an order.

Links to Instagram take you to Instagram, where Instagram’s own privacy policy applies.

• We don’t sell or rent your information to anyone.
• We don’t run ads or advertising trackers.
• We don’t have a mailing list, so you won’t be added to one.

Order records stay in Stripe and in our email for as long as they are needed for the order, for taxes and for bookkeeping. Visitor counts are kept in Google Analytics under its standard retention settings.

You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. Email the shop and we will answer. We may need to keep some order records for tax purposes.

The shop is not meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
